Overview
The lesser-known Kedareshwara Temple is a tranquil site that complements the larger Hoysaleswara complex. Believed to have been built by Hoysala King Veera Ballala II in the 13th century, this temple is also dedicated to Lord Shiva and exhibits many of the same stylistic features.
Unique Features
This trikuta (three-shrine) structure stands out for its intricate pedestal carvings and storytelling friezes. The ceiling work inside the temple is particularly striking, featuring floral patterns and mythological motifs.
Calm & Preservation
Unlike Hoysaleswara, Kedareshwara is less crowded and offers a serene atmosphere for contemplation and detailed viewing. The temple has undergone some conservation, and while not fully restored, its charm lies in its rustic and quiet ambiance.
